5 Brazilian Beaches You Need to Visit (and What to Pack)

I can still feel the exact moment the warm air of Bahia hit my face. The truth is, the coastline of Brazil is a poem written in a thousand languages.

Brazilian Beaches Guide Best Brazilian Beaches

Feel the moment the warm air of Bahia hit in your face when I first stepping off the plane. It carries the scent of sea salt, sweet mango, and something else, something I can only describe as the smell of pure, unfiltered life. Brazil is my home, my heritage, and its coastline is the heart of it all. People talk about Brazilian beaches as if they are all one and the same, a monolith of golden sand and beautiful people. But the truth is, the coastline of Brazil is a poem written in a thousand different languages.

From the wild, wind-swept dunes of the northeast to the secluded, crystalline coves near Rio, every beach has its own alma (soul). Choosing just five is an impossible task, a little like trying to choose a favorite star in the sky. But these five are special. They are the ones I recommend visiting, and the ones that have shaped the fabric of Soul de Verão. They are more than just places, they are feelings. So come, let me take you on a little journey.

    Praia do Espelho, Bahia

    Brazilian Beach 1

    The Vibe

Imagine a place where the line between the sky and the sea blurs into a perfect, shimmering reflection. That is Praia do Espelho, or "Mirror Beach." Tucked away on the stunning coast of southern Bahia, this beach is the definition of rustic chic. It’s not about flashy resorts, but about quiet, elegant pousadas (guesthouses) that blend seamlessly into the coconut groves. The magic here happens at low tide, when the coral reefs create natural pools of the warmest, most crystalline water you can imagine. The water becomes so still it perfectly mirrors the clouds and the dramatic red and white cliffs. It’s a place for quiet contemplation, for long walks, and for feeling completely, beautifully, disconnected from the noise of the world.

    Best Time to Visit

To get the full "mirror" effect, you want to visit during the dry season, from August to April. This is when the skies are clearest and the ocean is calmest. I particularly love September and October, when the weather is perfect and the summer crowds have not yet arrived. It feels like you have this piece of paradise all to yourself.

    What to Pack & Wear

Life at Espelho is effortlessly elegant. Think light, natural fabrics. A breezy linen cover-up, like our Cover-Up, is essential for walking from your pousada to the beach. For swimwear, you want something that feels both classic and special. The rich, earthy tones of our Bahia One-Piece were practically designed for the landscape here. It’s sophisticated, comfortable, and perfect for a day spent lounging by the natural pools and sipping água de coco (coconut water) straight from the source.

    Jericoacoara, Ceará

    Brazilian Beach 2

    The Vibe

Getting to Jericoacoara, or "Jeri" as we call it, is an adventure in itself. The last hour of the journey is in a 4x4 dune buggy, racing over vast expanses of white sand. This sets the tone for your stay. Jeri is a place of wild, untamed beauty. It was once a sleepy fishing village and has managed to hold onto its laid-back, bohemian spirit even as it has become a world-renowned destination for kitesurfing and windsurfing. The streets are made of sand, shoes are optional, and the rhythm of life is dictated by the sun and the wind. The energy is young, adventurous, and free.

    Best Time to Visit

Jeri is famous for its strong, consistent winds, making it a paradise for wind sports. The best time for this is from July to January. The most iconic experience in Jeri is watching the sunset from the top of the Duna do Pôr do Sol (Sunset Dune). Every evening, locals and visitors alike climb the huge sand dune to watch the sun sink directly into the ocean, a truly unforgettable sight.

    What to Pack & Wear

Jeri is all about sporty, functional style. You need a brazilian bikini that will stay in place whether you’re learning to kitesurf or just playing in the strong waves. Our Rio Bikini is perfect for this. It’s secure, comfortable, and has that vibrant energy that matches the spirit of Jeri. Pack lightweight shorts, simple cotton tees, and a good hat. Most importantly, bring a sense of adventure. Life here is beautifully unpredictable.

Praia da Pipa, Rio Grande do Norte

    Brazilian Beach 3

    The Vibe

When you arrive, you understand. Praia da Pipa is a collection of stunning coves and beaches, framed by dramatic, reddish-colored cliffs. The main beach is lively and full of energy, with beach bars and music, but just a short walk away, you can find quiet coves like Baía dos Golfinhos (Dolphin Bay), where you can literally swim with wild dolphins in the calm morning waters. The town itself is a vibrant, cosmopolitan mix of little shops, incredible restaurants, and lively nightlife. Pipa has a magnetic energy, a perfect balance of nature and excitement.

That’s how Pipa feels to me. It’s a place that tells you a story.

    Best Time to Visit

The weather is wonderful year-round, but the best time to visit is from September to March when there is less rain. This is also the best time for spotting the dolphins, as the sea is calmer. Pipa can get busy during Brazilian holidays, so if you are looking for a quieter experience, I would suggest planning your trip outside of those peak times.

    What to Pack & Wear

Pipa’s style is bohemian and eclectic. You can go from a quiet morning swim to a lively beachfront lunch and then out for a night of dancing. You need versatile pieces. Our Copacabana Bikini, with its bold print and flattering cut, is perfect for making a statement on the main beach. Pair it with a simple sarong for the day, and then slip on a flowing maxi dress for the evening. Don’t forget your sunglasses and a sense of curiosity to explore all the hidden corners of this magical place.

    Lopes Mendes, Ilha Grande

    Brazilian Beach 4

    The Vibe

There are some Brazilian beaches that make you work for their beauty, and Lopes Mendes is one of them. Located on the largely undeveloped Ilha Grande, a beautiful island off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, Lopes Mendes is not accessible by car. You have to take a boat from the main village of Abrãao and then complete a short 20-minute hike through the Atlantic rainforest. That little bit of effort means the beach is pristine, wild, and breathtakingly beautiful. We are talking nearly two miles of the finest, whitest sand I have ever felt, sand that literally squeaks under your feet. The water is a mesmerizing mix of crystal blue and emerald green, and the surf is often strong, attracting surfers. It feels like a lost world, a true escape.

    Best Time to Visit

Ilha Grande is beautiful all year, but the driest and sunniest months are during the Brazilian winter, from June to September. The summer months (December to March) see more rain, but the showers are usually quick, and the forest is incredibly lush and vibrant. I love it in the shoulder season, like May or October, for the best balance of good weather and fewer people.

    What to Pack & Wear

Visiting Lopes Mendes is about embracing nature. The key is simplicity and practicality. You will need good walking sandals for the hike, plenty of water, and snacks, as there are very few vendors on the beach. For your swimwear, you want something that feels as pure and clean as the surroundings. Our Ipanema Bikini in a solid, bright color looks stunning against the white sand and turquoise water. It’s a minimalist, timeless piece for a place that feels untouched by time.

    Praia do Forno, Búzios

    Brazilian Beach 5

    The Vibe

Búzios itself is a chic and bustling peninsula made famous by Brigitte Bardot, but it holds some incredible secrets. My favorite is Praia do Forno, a small cove hidden away and accessible only by a short, steep trail or a quick boat taxi. The name "Oven Beach" comes from the reddish, iron-rich sand that can get quite hot in the sun, and this sand gives the protected cove a unique pinkish hue. The water here is almost always completely calm and incredibly clear, making it one of the best spots for snorkeling near Rio. It feels like a private, natural swimming pool, a secret you are being let in on. It’s small, intimate, and absolutely perfect.

    Best Time to Visit

Búzios is a year-round destination. To avoid the biggest crowds, try to visit on a weekday, especially during the high season from December to March. The shoulder seasons (April-June and September-November) are ideal. The water is still warm, the sun is shining, and you might even have this little slice of paradise almost to yourself for a few hours.

    What to Pack & Wear

For a trip to Praia do Forno, think simple and functional. You’re coming here for the water. A stunning one-piece like the Bahia One-Piece is perfect. It’s elegant for lounging on the pinkish sand but also practical for swimming and snorkeling. Pack a snorkel mask and an underwater camera if you have one. You will mostly be in the water, so all you really need is your favorite brazilian bikini, a towel, and a bottle of water. It’s beauty in its simplest form.

    A Soul Note

Writing about these places fills my heart. They are not just dots on a map to me. They are woven into the story of my life and the story of Soul de Verão. When I am designing a new piece, I am not just thinking about a shape or a color. I am thinking about a feeling. I am thinking about the confidence you feel stepping onto the wild sands of Jeri in the Rio Bikini. I am picturing the quiet elegance of the Bahia One-Piece against the cliffs of Espelho. I am imagining you swimming with dolphins in Pipa, feeling free and alive.

These Brazilian beaches are diverse, each with its own personality, its own soul. My dream has always been to create a collection that honors that diversity. A collection that gives every woman the perfect piece to wear for her own perfect beach moment, wherever in the world she may find it. Because whether it’s a famous Brazilian beach or a quiet lake in your own hometown, finding your praia is about finding a little piece of yourself. And that is a journey worth taking.

Please be aware that not all beach photos are 100% the ones like in real life. Search them up & you will be even more impressed.
